Our Favorite Dahi Papdi's Story: Crunch, Cream and Chaat

Our Favorite Dahi Papdi's Story: Crunch, Cream and Chaat

Welcome to Ek Chai Kahani, where every meal is a delectable journey and every cup of tea tells a story.

In our café, we believe that food should do more than just satisfy hunger; it should evoke memories, bring happiness, and nurture connections.   As a result, we've incorporated Dahi Papdi, one of India's most popular street snacks, into the heart of our spiritual space.

The Chaat Classic, Carefully Refined with care

Dahi Papdi is a dish that Indian street food enthusiasts don't need to be introduced to.  However, at Ek Chai Kahani, we pay tribute to its street-side spirit while elevating this classic favorite.

Our version has the following features:

Golden, crispy papadis with the ideal layering

Silky, cool, creamy dahi whipped

Chickpeas and spiced potatoes are nestled underneath for a filling bite.

Chutneys that are both sweet and sour to balance each bite

Fresh coriander, a dash of chaat masala, and a final flourish of sev

The outcome?  Every bite is a symphony of flavors, textures, and temperatures.

It's a Story, Not Just a Snack.

There is more to each meal at our café than just taste.  Specifically, Dahi Papdi tells the tale of comfort and tradition, of busy Indian streets transformed into a welcoming space in our café.

It's the meal that reminds you of home, the snack that makes you happy after a long day, and the offer to slow down, enjoy, and share.

 Freshly Made, Soulfully Served

We take pleasure in using premium ingredients, preparing food fresh, and presenting it so that it looks good before you ever taste it.  However, our Dahi Papdi's purpose—to provide something that feels cozy, tasty, and personal—is what really sets it apart.

Your New Best Chaat Is Waiting for You

Try our Dahi Papdi the next time you're at Ek Chai Kahani and see why this unassuming street food is so significant to us and to our menu.

Because here, savoring each moment is just as important as eating.
